Vladimir Putin- President for Life?

President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin  inspires confidence.He has been ruling Russia since 1999,20 years now & will rule till 2024. He is making constitutional changes perhaps on model of China which removed term limits and made Xi Jinping head for life. He has fired current Prime Minister Medvedev along with his entire cabinet and appointed  Mikhail Mishustin as Prime Minister despite parliament elections still a year away. Medvedev has been now appointed to a recently created post of  deputy head of the presidential Security Council. 

Putin seems to be all set to cross Joseph Stalin's reign of 29++ Years with these current constitutional changes. Its not clear whether he would create a new post for himself or extend parliament powers but its clear he wants to abolish term limits. Current reforms include allowing lawmakers not just president to name prime minister and his cabinet. Putin is clear that a parliamentary system cannot afford stability to Russia&hence favored a Presidential Model. The current constitutional changes are expected to be completed by Spring. 

Mishustin has been preferred since he has not demonstrated any political ambititons so far. Yeltsin had raised the profile of Putin in a very short time and announced him as his successor. Yeltsin caused the dissolution of Soviet Union,making USA the global leader and the end of cold war.
