Naimisaranya is the sacred forest where all our vedas, puranas, upanishads were written. Lord Brahma was approached by rishis seeking redressal from the trouble that Asuras were causing to them. Lord Brahma created a Chakra and asked sages to follow chakra till it comes to a stop. That would be the place where rishis can do penance peacefully.
The disc stopped in Naimisaranya at Chakrateerth and on resting on the earth, water stopped oozing out. When the water flow became huge,the rishis approached Lord Brahma again for help. Lord Brahma asked rishis to visit Goddess Lalitha Devi who controlled the water flow.
There are several temples around Chakrateerth.When one bathes in Chakrateerth, they can easily feel the water flow which eases the circumambulation of the Chakrateerth.
