NRIIT’s Bold Leap into the AI Era: A Visionary Journey Empowered by GENAIPioneer

In a rapidly evolving world where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping industries and redefining skill requirements, visionary leadership and expert partnerships become the key to institutional transformation. NRI Institute of Technology (NRIIT), under the exceptional guidance of its Director, Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu, has taken a groundbreaking step by training its entire third-year engineering cohort—1,200 students—in AI. This Initiative was fully supported by NRIIT Chairman, Sri Venkata Rao Garu, Principal Sri Naga Bhaskar Garu and Dean, CSE, Sri KV Sambasiva Rao garu and wholeheartedly encouraged by all Heads of Departments.
This initiative, empowered by GENAIPioneer under the leadership of its Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, Sri Uma Desu, focuses on preparing students for the low-code/no-code revolution. As Sundar Pichai famously remarked, “25% of Google’s code is now written by AI.” NRIIT is ensuring its students are not only equipped for this reality but positioned to lead it. Sam Altman four weeks back said that AGI is coming in 2025 and yesterday, he said that OpenAI has already achieved AGI and they are keeping it under Wraps.
Distinct Visionaries United by GENAIPioneer
The GENAI training initiative at NRIIT College and the record-setting Faculty Development Program (FDP) at SRKR Engineering College showcase two distinct visionary leaders, Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu and Sri Jagapathi Raju Garu, both united by their collaboration with Uma Desu, Chief AI Officer of GENAIPioneer.
At SRKR Engineering College, under the direction of Director Sri Jagapathi Raju Garu and Principal Sri K.V. Murali Krishnam Raju garu & support of CSE Head, Sri Chandrasekhar Garu, a transformative FDP was conducted, training 125 faculty members—a milestone in AI education. The FDP, led by Uma Desu, demonstrated the profound impact of equipping educators with AI tools to drive institutional transformation and empower faculty to adopt innovative teaching methods. This initiative cemented SRKR’s leadership in fostering AI readiness among its faculty.
Separately, at NRIIT College, Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu, an equally accomplished education pioneer with 40 years experience, spearheaded a bold initiative to train 1,200 third-year engineering students. Partnering with Uma Desu and GENAIPioneer, this program exclusively focused on preparing students for the low-code/no-code revolution, empowering them with cutting-edge AI tools to lead in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
While both initiatives are distinct, they are interconnected through the expertise and leadership of Uma Desu and GENAIPioneer, showcasing how tailored approaches can address the unique needs of different institutions. These efforts collectively highlight the transformative potential of AI education when championed by visionary leadership and strategic collaboration.
Though both directors acted independently, their shared commitment to leveraging AI for education reflects their deep understanding of the needs of modern engineering students and faculty. Through GENAIPioneer’s tailored training programs, these two education pioneers have demonstrated how institutions can adopt unique but complementary strategies to drive impactful AI-driven transformations.
NRIIT’s Bold Focus on Students
The GENAI training program at NRIIT, spearheaded by Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu, exclusively focused on preparing students for the future. Unlike conventional programs that divide resources between students and faculty, this initiative placed students at the center of its vision. Over 1,200 third-year engineering students were trained to utilize cutting-edge tools such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and low-code/no-code platforms, enabling them to build applications and solve problems with minimal coding knowledge.
The Students were thoroughly trained on the four pillars of AI: NLP, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and GenAI-LLMs along with Exhaustive Prompt Engineering training.
The results were extraordinary. Students developed their own No Code Applications and were surprised at the speed at which they could launch applications instead of spending months only on design. They are now working enthusiastically empowered by the AI Tools creating websites in less than a hour, mobile apps, applications, chatbots, all in a low code/no code environment. All Students are trained to pass Branded Certification Tests from IBM, Microsoft, Databricks, etc., in GENAI & Prompt Engineering. Passing these exams consolidates their learning and gives them confidence to walk into the Brave New World....
Students’ resume scores increased dramatically, with the highest score reaching 96, a testament to the effectiveness of the program. This not only stands out as a record among the 4,200 students trained by Sri Uma Desu to date but also highlights the tangible impact of GENAIPioneer’s methodology on employability and technical expertise.
The Visionary Leadership of Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu
At the heart of this initiative lies the visionary leadership of Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu, who understood the need to prepare students for a future dominated by AI and automation. His decision to train all third-year students simultaneously reflects his belief in the transformative power of education to create a workforce ready for tomorrow’s challenges.
Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu’s collaboration with GENAIPioneer underscores his strategic approach. By partnering with experts like Sri Uma Desu, who brings unmatched expertise in AI training, NRIIT has positioned itself as a trailblazer in engineering education. This bold step ensures that NRIIT students are not just participants in the AI revolution but leaders.
Collaboration with GENAIPioneer: A Game-Changer
The success of this program is deeply rooted in the expertise of GENAIPioneer and the leadership of Sri Uma Desu. Having trained over 4,200 students and 600 faculty members, Sri Uma Desu has become a trusted figure in AI education across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha. His awareness sessions, conducted in over 75+ colleges, have played a significant role in driving AI adoption in academia.
During the felicitation ceremony at NRIIT, Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu honored Sri Uma Desu for his outstanding contributions. The event highlighted the collaboration’s impact on shaping the futures of 1,200 students, showcasing how GENAIPioneer’s expertise is redefining education in the AI era.
Empowering Students for the AI Era
The AI training program at NRIIT emphasized low-code and no-code platforms, enabling students to create real-world solutions with minimal coding expertise. This shift aligns perfectly with Sundar Pichai’s statement that “25% of Google’s code is now written by AI.” By empowering students with AI tools, NRIIT is preparing them for a world where creativity and innovation take precedence over traditional coding skills.
The Road Ahead: Scaling New Heights
As 2024 draws to a close, Sri Uma Desu, through GENAIPioneer, is set to train an additional 750 students, bringing his total to an impressive 5,000 trained students. With GENAIPioneer’s impactful programs and the support of visionary leaders like Sri Sambasiva Rao Garu, institutions like NRIIT are setting benchmarks for the future of education.
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, NRIIT proves that bold leadership, combined with strategic partnerships, can redefine education and prepare students to lead the AI-driven world.
