A Night of Inspiration and Mentorship at a leading Univ in Hyderabad

In the 26 years since my own college graduation, I had never spent so much uninterrupted time with college students until this remarkable evening at a noted university in Hyderabad.  Surrounded by eager minds, full of curiosity and enthusiasm, I found myself immersed in discussions that rekindled memories of my own days as a member of IEEE. These young individuals, just four years older than my daughter, brought me back to a time when I was filled with the same passion for discovery and ambition.

The night air was cool, and a mist gently settled over the beautiful grounds of the University. Despite the growing chill, the group of 19-year-olds sitting around me showed no sign of retreat. Their faces, illuminated with hope, asked question after question about their future in Generative AI (GENAI). They were seeking direction, guidance, and, most importantly, reassurance that their choice to delve into this cutting-edge field was the right one. They wanted to know why i believed that GENAI could contribute 2 Trillion USD to Indian Economy. They wanted to understand where they stood in this big scheme of things.

Each inquiry was a reflection of their earnestness: "Where do we start?", "How do we grow in this field?", "What challenges will we face?" And with every answer I gave, I could see a sense of fulfillment growing in their eyes. It was a realization that they were no longer wandering aimlessly; they had found a path. The cold didn't deter them. As the night progressed, I was no longer just a mentor—they were not just students; we had become companions on the same journey toward unlocking the potential of AI.

In those moments, I realized something profound. The connection I had with these students was a reminder of the responsibility in ensuring a lasting impact on the next generation. The evening wasn't just about AI—it was about the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of young woxsen minds brimming with potential.

This experience brought back vivid memories of my IEEE days when I would be surrounded by fellow enthusiasts. After a long time, again kids around me. However, this time it felt even more special. These students are the next wave, and seeing their excitement, I lived vicariously through them. In their questions, I found not just a passion for AI, but the promise of the future. A future where these bright minds will shape the world, just as I once hoped to do.I promised to help them as much as i can in furthering their careers. It was a very memorable evening for me too.

I walked away from Woxsen University that night not only inspired by them but also deeply reflective. It was a rare privilege to witness the beginning of their journeys and to know that in some small way, I had helped them find their direction.
